LLCU will be discontinuing Saturday Lobby & Drive-up Hours at the following four branches: Decatur-Mound Rd., Decatur-Water St., Bloomington, and Centralia. In a letter mailed and email to membership, LLCU President & CEO, Robert Ares, announced the Saturday closures with the following message:

2022 has proven to be, thus far, a continuation of solid performance by your credit union.  We continue to grow, provide loans in all our markets, and increase services to you, our members.

As part of providing better service, in June, we opened a second branch in Effingham and relocated our Bloomington branch to a more accessible location. Additionally, we continue to invest in our communities, pacing this year to exceed last year’s charity donations which totaled $140,000 and pacing to exceed employee volunteer hours of last year, which totaled more than 2,000 hours.

Not only are we committed to our members and communities, but we also make extraordinary efforts to provide our employees with a great working environment, that challenges them to grow their skills and serve our members and our communities.   Part of that commitment to our employees is a value system that is at the core of what LLCU represents – that is, Faith, Family and Work, in that order, every time. We encourage our employees to exercise their faith in whatever manner they choose. We expect our employees to take care of, and spend quality time with, their families. Finally, our employees are asked to always do their very best while working together, as a team, to serve you, our members, and our community.

To that end, reducing turnover is a key goal of our board and management, as we want you to see the same familiar faces and smiles as you conduct business at our branches. To reduce turnover more effectively, and to better practice our guiding values, beginning on Saturday, September 17th, 2022, Centralia branch will no longer be open on Saturdays. On Saturday, October 1st, 2022 the Bloomington branch will no longer open on Saturdays. Additionally, beginning October 8^th, 2022, the Decatur branch locations at Water Street and at Mound Road, will no longer be open on Saturdays. To offset these Saturday closures, please visit our website to view a full list of alternative LLCU Branches that continue to offer Saturday lobby & drive-up hours for your convenience. Additionally, we strongly encourage members to explore the large number of transactions and services you can easily complete using LLCU Online & Mobile Banking. Our staff is ready to help you enroll and navigate online banking if you have not already taken advantage of this offering. Another option for Saturday transactions is to seek a Shared Branching network participant, using our full list found at llcu.org.

This strategic move will allow our employees more time with family without interrupting the level of service to which you, our members, have grown accustomed.
